Language of communication
Republic of Kazakhstan is a multicultural country. The official language is Kazakh language, but on par with it, lingua franca is Russian. Visitors of the Republic should know some features of the regions of Kazakhstan: the North residents speak mostly in Russian (as is bordered by Russia), in the south — in Kazakh. In the tourism industry preference if given to the staff, that speaks foreign languages.
Currency exchange and money
Tenge is a recognized national currency of Kazakhstan and is denoted by (T). Banknotes in denominations of 200, 500, 1000, 2000, 5000, 1000 are in circulation. From Monday to Friday banks and exchanges operates from 9:00 a.m.to 6:00 p.m. You can easily find ATMs in shopping centers, banks and hotels. International credit cards are accepted.
Communication and Internet
Mobile operators in Kazakhstan provide various tariff plans for communication inside the country and in the «roaming» at affordable prices, including mobile Internet option. Beeline, Kcell, Tele2 and Active are the most popular cell operators. Internet cafe, available Wi-Fi zones on train stations, airports and hotels are open for users.
Medical Assistance for foreigners is free of charge according to the list approved by the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In emergency situations,that are not included in the list, medical services are paid by personal funds of a foreign visitor.
The United Nations Convention on Road Traffic was ratified in Kazakhstan. According to this document, any driving license of Contracting Parties is valid on the territory of Kazakhstan.
